Comprehensive support programme for children and adults with albinism who suffer from skin cancer

Tackling the problem of skin cancer in Sub-Saharan Africa is urgent, particularly for people with albinism. It is the leading cause of death among this population. The lack of melanin to protect their skin makes them particularly vulnerable to the relentless African sun.

To help, we made a donation of €50,000 to Africa Directo, which will be used to set up a production unit to make protective sun cream in Maputo, and to support palliative care among this collective, particularly children and teens.
